THE YEARNING IN THE WAKE OF WAR. Sayed Ali Farhan is a Grade 12 student at Wazir-Abad New Established High School in Kabul. He was born in Safid Ab village, Ghor province, in 2009 and moved to Kabul in 2019. He speaks Dari, Pashto, English, and Spanish. He is dedicated to greater safety, prosperity and quality of life for Afghanistan. “We want Wazir-Abad to be a place where people live peacefully together, respect each other, and help each other in daily life,” writes Sayed. “Our aim is to build a community where young people grow up with understanding, kindness, and a strong sense of unity. Our goals are to 1. Encourage people in the community to be more respectful and supportive of each other; 2. Help young people focus on education and positive activities Create small efforts that bring people together; 3. Reduce misunderstandings; 4. Promote peace and cooperation in daily life within Wazir-Abad. Such maturity and hope in this young man who is bringing his community closer to peace.
